We are beginning our 3rd week of school for the year. Classes are going well and I am enjoying my students very much and excited about the year ahead. My tennis teams have been chosen- 9 players for each team and I love working each day with these kids in an activity outside of school. We'll see what the season holds!
This weekend we went for a long weekend away at the beach. It was beautiful and we're thankful to enjoy such amazing beaches during our time here. It was good to get out of the school walls to enjoy the rugged beauty of the Philippines. We went diving three times and every time I go, I am amazed at the gorgeous colors of the many varieties of fish along with the sea turtles, snakes, seahorses, giant clams, eels and maybe even a shark! Some are large and yet others are so tiny that you can barely see them. Diving is especially wonderful because you are surrounded by the beauty of the water, corals and aquatic life. Its a whole another world down below! We also took a banca boat to go beach hopping for one afternoon and otherwise enjoyed sitting by the pool or beach to relax and read. Weekends like these make me love the tropics and endure the times i don't love it! Well........now back to work!
