WHAT HAPPENED TO FEBRUARY? It FLEW by!

We took two very special trips over 2 long weekends, which made it extra exciting!
The first was a visit to DONSOL,(actually the last 6 pictures) to swim with the whale sharks. It was truly an experience to remember. We jumped in and swam with them an average of 12-15 times for every two hour visit. They are giant, yet gentle creatures and fun to swim with! It is incredible to watch them move through the water and to jump in and see this giant creature coming towards you! The average length is about 25-30 feet, but can be up to 40 feet! And they weigh alot-like 12-20 tons! They feed on Plankton, so getting near them isn't dangerous.

The second trip was to Apo Reef, the second largest reef in the world. It was amazing! It was a live aboard trip, meaning that we stayed on the boat for 3 days and 4 nights, and ate, slept and went diving all from the boat! It was a wonderful and relaxing experience being on the water morning, noon and night! I enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets every day and the full moon lit nights. The reef is located in the middle of nowhere with the only land being a very small island with nothing more than a lighthouse. We went diving for 3 days and a total of 12 dives. We saw beautiful corals, amazing varieties of colorful fish, sharks, sea turtles, eels, barracuda, sea snakes, sting rays, giant clams, lobsters and many schools of fish! We went on shore only one day to climb the lighthouse. It truly was not only a highlight of the Philippines but one of the best trips of my life!
